pan brachial plexus injury 2

Pan brachial plexus injury which was operated. All trunks were found to be avulsed and nerve transfer were done .

Spinal accessory nerve was transferred to suprascapular nerve to innervate suprascapular muscle for shoulder abduction. Successful innervation results in 40 degrees of shoulder abduction which is useful in day to day activities.

Intercostal nerves were transferred to elbow for restoration of elbow function .3,4 and 5 intercostal nerves are usually dissected and transferred to musculocutaneous nerve.
