Dhanraj recovery

Dhanraj is a college student in a Delhi.While coming from college he was in high speed and met with a accident.He was injured extensively.H had head injuries,and extensive limb fractures. He was diagnosed to have brachial plexus injury while recovering from head injury. I saw him six months after accident. As we planned surgery I had a lingering doubt about success of surgery. But I decided to brush aside such feeling .We operated Dhanraj in December 2015, I explored plexus and found that total avulsion of all five roots. Plan was made to do SAN to supraspinatus ,Phrenic nerve to axillary via nerve graft and intercoastal 3,4,5 to musculocutaneous nerve.We discharged patient after two days .Post operative was okay we discharged patient after two days . Post operative was okay and after one month we started physiotherapy. Initial one year was tough and patient was not showing no results. At six monthly visits I was encouraging to do physiotherapy. phrenic nerve for shoulder palsy

30 years old accountant presented with brachial plexus injury of six months duration. He was lacking shoulder abduction and elbow function. Hand function was also not very good ,o oberlin transfer was ruled out and triceps were weak. He was operated brachial plexus was explored supraspinatus was found to be intact . Phrenic nerve to axillary nerve transfer was done and for elbow nerve transfer from spinal accessory to musculocutaneous nerve was done .This video was recorded one year post op. Lawyers shoulder

34 year old lawyer presented with shoulder palsy of six months duration .He was operated finding revealed that supraspinatus was active so Somsack transfer was done to to restore shoulder abduction. Six months post operative he is showing improvement which is likely to improve with physiotherapy.
