triple neurotisation in a young boy
8 year old young boy from Jodhpur Rajasthan India got injured in a road traffic accident in January 2015 . On 16/5/2015 I operated in Gurgaon , He had upper trunk injury and hand was normal.. We did three nerve transfer and pt initially gained elbow flexion followed by shoulder function. After two years he shows excellent shoulder and elbow function. Three nerve transfer done are Spinal accessory to supraspinatus Somsack transfer (long head tricep fascicle to axillary nerve) Oberlin transfer( Ulnar nerve fascicle to musculocutanous nerve) Patient had a upper trunk C5,C6 injury which resulted in paralysed shoulder and elbow flexion. Elbow flexion is a extremely important function, it is supplied by musculocutaneous nerve which comes from lateral cord which in turn comes from anterior division upper trunk.
